Introduction to the 8-Phase Land Subdivision Process

Are you a residential or commercial property owner that is looking to increase the value of your property by subdividing it? You will be required to go through an extensive “Land subdivision” process with your local municipality. If you are not familiar with this process, it can be overwhelming!


Regardless, if your project is either simple or complicated, the process is the same and it is complicated. In order to explain the process, we have created the following eight flowcharts that describe each phase. Click on the “+” sign for a detailed description of that step. The flowcharts identify the flow and potential complications along the way and provide suggestions as to how to handle that obstacle.
